Welcome to my (mostly) research homepage.

I am Senior Research Scientist at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. I have a PhD in theoretical physics and I hold a title of docent in information and computer science (tietojenkäsittelytiede).

From this site you can find information about me, my professional biography, contact information, research projects, and list of publications as well as my blog.

My old research homepage is for time being archived for historic interest. You can also find (at least links to) miscellaneous material, including some historic web pages created by me.

Current research projects

I am principal investigator in three ongoing research projects - two Academy Projects and one large strategic research opening of Tekes - described more in detail in Projects page.

  • Human-guided data analysis (Academy of Finland, 2015-2019)
  • Revolution of Knowledge Work (Tekes, 2013-2017)
  • Smarter glasses (Academy of Finland, 2015-2016)

The common theme in the projects is how people access information, e.g., in knowledge work. All of the projects benefit from the multidisciplinary nature of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and include collaboration with computer scientist, psychologists, cognitive and medical scientist, and technical experts.

(We are always looking for good people, please contact me if interested!)
